Building a Personal Brand Without the Cringe
Most "personal branding" advice feels like a script for a late-night infomercial. You don't need to shout into the void to be heard.
Authority vs. Influence
- Influence: Having a lot of followers (often shallow).
- Authority: Being the person people go to for a specific answer (deep and valuable).
As a founder, you want Authority.
The "Helpful Expert" Strategy
The fastest way to build a brand is to be the most helpful person in your niche.
- Write the guides that other people are too lazy to write.
- Answer the "stupid" questions in community forums.
- Share your actual workflows and toolstacks.
The Content Pillar System
Don't try to be everywhere. Pick one "Pillar" and two "Sprockets."
- Pillar: A long-form deep dive (Blog post, Newsletter).
- Sprocket 1: A breakdown of that post into an X thread.
- Sprocket 2: A quick tip shared on LinkedIn.
This allows you to create once and distribute many times without burning out.
